Customer advice on timber and stain selection
As with all naturally occuring materials variations in timber colour, texture, and grain make each piece of timber furniture unique. No two pieces of timber furniture can be exactly the same.
This is a short list of things to be considered when purchasing a timber product.
Colour variation in timber
The colour of different timbers will vary.
Each piece of timber may contain any number of differing colours.
Colour will vary depending on the direction the grain is travelling.
While every effort can be made to create a specific timber stain to match an exisitng timber finish, it is impossible to match stains exactly.
There are too many variances in colour, grain and the timber itself. Timber also changes colour slightly with age. In these circumstances prospective customers should be aware only a near match is possible. This is particularly true when the piece of furniture has the timber grain going in differing directions and consists of a different colours.
